- Exams
At Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic, every consultation begins with a thorough history and physical exam. Our experienced veterinarians can call on their clinical expertise to assess your pet's overall health and pinpoint any issues that need to be addressed or require further diagnostics.
It is helpful if the owner can provide any previous medical records that exist, particularly for ongoing or recurrent problems.
- Laboratory
Our laboratory includes state-of-the-art hematology and chemistry analyzers, as well as parasite and viral testing, urinalysis, and microscopy. With these tools at our fingertips, we are often able to arrive at a diagnosis within minutes.
If specialized testing is required, we can prepare samples to be sent out to a reference laboratory.
- Radiology
At Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic, we can x-ray to diagnose fractures, lameness and intgernal problems when needed.
Our trusty x-ray machine, fondly named "Dino", continues to serve us well.
- Surgery
Surgeries performed at Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic include routine spays, neuters, and declaws, as well as tumor removals, wound repairs, and exploratory surgery. We generally use a combination of injectable and gas anesthesia.
Pre and post-operative pain management is closely attended to.

Many pets tend to develop dental problems with bad breath, pain, and loss of teeth as they grow older. Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic has a dental suite where we can perform preventative cleaning of teeth, as well as extractions when necessary.
All dental work is performed under general anethesia.
