We are a full-service small animal clinic that has patient well-being and client satisfaction at the heart of our practice. We are dedicated to delivering convenient, compassionate, customized, quality care in a relaxed and welcoming environment. We treat dogs, cats, rabbits, pocket pets, and other companion animals in a manner that prevents and alleviates fear, anxiety, and stress in pets. Some of the many services we offer include acupuncture, dental care, in-clinic diagnostics, surgery, wellness visits, as well as boarding. In order to accommodate the lives of busy pet parents, we also offer scheduled drop-off services for checkups and minor problems for a small additional fee.
Located in Baton Rouge’s Mid-City/Goodwood area, Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic is an independent, locally owned practice that has been serving the healthcare needs of pets for almost 50 years. Established in 1973 and originally known as Mistretta Veterinary Clinic, the practice was purchased by Dr. Emily Taylor in 2010 and renamed Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic. Through hard work and the support of loyal clients, the clinic outgrew its previous facility and moved to a newer and larger building at 7662 Goodwood Boulevard in 2015.
