Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic is a small animal veterinary clinic located one block from Government Street at 722 Jefferson Highway in the Mid-City/Goodwood area. We strive to deliver quality care to pets with a focus on personal service and convenience in a friendly relaxed atmosphere.

Established in 1973 as Mistretta Veterinary Clinic, our clinic has been providing quality care to Baton Rouge pets for over thirty-eight years. In June 2010, Dr. Emily Taylor purchased the practice and renamed it Capital Heights Veterinary Clinic. Dr. Bernard Mistretta continues to practice here on a part-time basis, and his practice philosophy remains the cornerstone of the clinic.

We provide general veterinary care to companion animals, including rabbits and "pocket pets." Our services include wellness exams and parasite testing, vaccinations, microchipping, surgery, and dentistry. We also offer boarding, day care, and bathing. Drop-off service for checkups and minor problems is available for a small additional fee and is scheduled in advance.
